Teacher & Provider Stories

Denver Preschool Program is lucky to work with more than 260 preschool providers across Denver. As part of our 20 year anniversary, we asked them to share their thoughts about what our collaboration has meant to them in and out of the classroom.

“I think DPP has allowed for me to refocus on why I teach in the first place, which is because of the children. I think it has helped me be able to get my mind off of finances, get my mind off of the families I serve, and fear around their insecurity, so that I can show up ready and excited rather than fearful for my school days.”

“DPP has made a huge difference. So many teachers put their own money into their classrooms, and it has alleviated some of that pressure, that financial pressure for me to be able to provide a variety of extra materials in my classroom that might not seem extra but isn’t provided by the school. It just provides me a sense of security in a job that is very trying and is underfunded.”
