Denver Preschool Program’s community partners and leaders shared their thoughts about how DPP made a difference during the past two decades.

Denver Public Schools

“Well, what made a meaningful difference in our partnership with DPP as the DPS Executive Director of Early Childhood Education was not just the funding and connection with the people that work at DPP, but also just the partnership that meant that we really worked together to serve families and children. And my relationship with Elsa Holguin, the CEO, just our regular connection made that very, very possible and very seamless. And then also, I would say whenever my staff reached out to DPP employees, they got nothing but support. And that was really, really valuable to us.”

“What I would add is that the transitions with UPK and all that that entailed, all of the complexities of those changes and the challenges that it brought, we could not have navigated that on our own. And having DPP as partners in that work, having them take on the challenge of being our local coordinating organization, our LCO, was just crucial. And doing it together, we were able to navigate very, very challenging times. And in so doing, even though families did struggle to understand all the changes and really manage the system, we were able to give them more support due to our partnership with Denver Preschool Program. So this was a very, very meaningful portion. Very, very grateful for our partnership and our relationship and look forward to many more years of working together. Very, very grateful. Thank you.”

Community Leader

“Denver Preschool Program has definitely impacted my community for the better. I have seen it first-hand how much of a difference that this organization can make in the lives of not just the families and the children that they serve, but also the teachers and the providers of the education that they serve too. Especially given this political climate, I think that they’re just creating a comfortable space, a safety net for people who maybe don’t feel any security in any other aspect of their life.”
